The Study of Metal-based Hydrolytic Catalysts

Cameron Keeley-Parker

The goal of our project was to investigate hydrolytic catalysts, especially in the context of phosphate ester bonds. The end goal was to examine various metal ions as catalysts to degrade compounds containing these bonds. Through spectroscopic analysis of these reactions, we hoped to examine how phosphate ester bonds could reliably be broken by metal ions and how it could be applied to various clinical and agricultural situations.
