The Aftermath of the Wilmington Terror

Cameron Donez

The 1898 Wilmington Insurrection is one of the defining moments of American race relations in the Jim Crow era. This project's goal was to track both the development of the narrative around the Wilmington Insurrection in contemporary US newspapers and to investigate the lives of refugees in the North.
