Bon Air JCC Finance Club

Bronson McLeod

Many of the incarcerated youths at the Bon Air juvenile prison have mastered economic concepts such as supply and demand and scarcity within a market in order to sustain themselves and their families. But do they have enough knowledge about larger financial systems and legal business practices to realistically be able to "turn their lives around"... as our culture says we want them to? This finance club project aims to identify the financial realities of a small group of incarcerated youths, so that they can relearn formal financial principles through storytelling, in order to navigate financial systems as free men in a post-Covid-19 economy.
